St. Louis Arc

Special Events Manager

 

The St. Louis Arc is a non-profit organization that provides support and services to more than 3,000 adults and children with developmental disabilities (e.g., Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism) each year.  Founded in 1950, the Arc’s services include housing, early intervention, childcare, recreation, supported employment, respite care, family supports and more.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this full-time position will provide leadership for the agency’s fund-raising, friend-raising and donor recognition events.

Responsibilities

  • Management of fund raising events, including annual golf tournament, trivia night and poker event

  • Coordination of annual “Arc In The Park” picnic and holiday donor party

  • Assistance with other Agency events

  • Development and coordination of new Friends Group

  • Cultivation of third-party events and other fund raising opportunities

  • Pursue involvement with civic groups, service organizations, sports teams, and corporate volunteer groups

  • Seek creative opportunities for promoting the Arc to key constituencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and preferably at least 2-3 years experience in special events or related field

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to set, manage and meet deadlines

  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation and positive attitude

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Effective presentation and public speaking skills

  • Ability to work with a diverse population
