Organization Description
Community Link has a 35-year+ history of helping adults and children with development disabilities. The more than 130 employees provide a full array of services, including employment support, adult day programs, small group homes and infant programs, to more than 400 individuals. A significant expansion in the Belleville area is scheduled for Spring, 2008. Community Link has been rated in the top 3% of all agencies accredited by the national Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. Director of Community Services, Director of Adult Day Programs, Director of Administrative Services, Director of Infant Programs, Production Director, Service Coordinator, Human Resource Generalist, Funding Development Coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and successful implementation of the strategic plan and continually refresh the strategic plan with the input of stakeholders.
- Maintain the mission-centered culture by professional example and through communication to the staff and the Board members. Nurture a collegial culture of teamwork and cooperation.
- Encourage constant programming improvements and inter-department cooperation and communication through knowledgeable guidance and management.
- Oversee and participate in Community Link’s fundraising.
- Serve as the organization’s primary ambassador and spokesperson in local and professional communities and as the primary media spokesperson as appropriate. Establish collaborative relationships with professional and community organizations as appropriate.
- Communicate with local, state, and national organizations to increase the impact and visibility of the Agency’s work. Serve on regional and statewide planning and coordinating bodies as appropriate.
- Direct the organization’s fiscal management
- Serve as liaison between the Board and the organization.
Primary Skills, Education and Experience
- Leadership skills tailored to a culture of teamwork, cooperation and compassion. Ability to create and articulate a mission-centered vision for the organization.
- Deep understanding and appreciation of programs that help people with developmental disabilities.
- Unimpeachable professional ethics and respect for clients.
- Master’s degree in rehabilitation, social service, business administration or related field.
- Minimum of four years administrative experience in a successful social service agency.
