Crider Health Center

Community Education Specialist

 

Crider Health Center is a Community Health Center serving the mental health needs of citizens of Franklin, Lincoln, St. Charles, and Warren Counties. Crider Health Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.


Position Description
The Community Education Specialist is a member of the Development Team and is responsible for planning and implementing a wide variety of educational programs and assisting with fundraising programs. The community educational programs will be designed to help individuals throughout the community improve their health by enhancing their understanding of basic health risk factors and learning new ways of improving their lifestyle, leading to fuller, more productive healthy lives.


Position Level: 14-Exempt
Supervision: The Community Education Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of Development and Marketing.
Job Location: Wentzville, MO
Relocation Expense Covered: No
Employee Type: Full-Time
Manages Others: No
Compensation: $35,000 annually
Other Compensation: Travel, Incentive Pay, Generous 401(k) and Benefits Package


Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a broad-based community education program in cooperation with the Integrated Primary Care and Mental Health Departments. (50%)
  • Coordinate all aspects of the United Way allocation: solicitations, reports, one-time grant proposals, and assist with preparation of the annual agency site visit. (15%)
  • Assist in staging existing special events and develop and implement two new special events. (10%)
  • Identify and participate in one (1) community-based education event (health fairs, issue focused program) per quarter. (15%).
  • Represent Crider Center in the community (7%)
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned (3%)


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Established community contacts
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
  • Goal directed and detail oriented.
  • Computer literacy.
