Deborah L. Cooper, president of NSC, announces resignation
The board of directors of the Nonprofit Services Center (NSC) announced that its president, Deborah L. Cooper, has resigned and will be stepping down, effective April 30, 2012. A national search is underway to find her successor. Read the press release.

The Meyer Foundation and CompassPoint Nonprofit Services released The Board Paradox, completing a series of three briefs based on a national study of more than 3,000 nonprofit executive directors. The briefs report survey results and findings not included in the Daring to Lead 2011 main report, which was released in late June.

“Planning and Preparation: Community Transformation Grants”
Join us for this informational webinar presentation featuring Missouri Foundation for Health Program Associate Erin Black and Health Policy Coordinator Colleen Beckwith as they detail the Center for Disease Control (CDC) anticipated Community Transformation Grants (CTG) guidelines that will be available late February 2011.
Key topics to be addressed:
- What is the purpose of the CTG funding?
- What are the eligibility requirements?
- What areas of health prevention are targeted?
- What can organizations do now to prepare for CTG’s?
Register now and learn how your organization can complete a competitive CTG application.
There is no charge to attend this event, but registration is required. Due to space limitations preference will be given to organizations that submitted a letter of intent for the recent TA assistance as well as current MFH HAC, TIPC and SIM grantees.
Once registered you will receive an email from ReadyTalk with log in instructions. Please contact Carmen Garcia, carmen@nonprofitservices.org with registration questions.

Erin Black, MPH
Erin Black joined Missouri Foundation for Health as a Program Associate in May 2010. Prior to MFH, Erin worked for the Center for Tobacco Policy Research at Washington University in St. Louis as the Senior Research Associate on the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) Best Practices Project. She is a board member for the Yantalo International Volunteer Organization overseeing strategic planning and fundraising for new medical volunteer housing being built in Yantalo, Peru. Erin received a master’s in public health from St. Louis University and her bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Truman State University.
Colleen Beckwith, MPH
Colleen Beckwith is a Health Policy Coordinator with the Missouri Foundation for Health. She previously worked for the St. Louis County Department of Health for seven years in various roles including Public Health Coordinator. As the Public Health Coordinator she was responsible for maintaining the Department of Health’s accreditation and had a lead role in the Communities Putting Prevention to Work grant applications. Colleen holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Saint Louis University School of Public Health.
